SERIES OF PAMPHLETS ON RESILIENT LIFE RHYTHMS:

In partnership with Whitehead Industrial Psychologists, Christian Literature Fund a series of pamphlets (or short, informal learning material) compiled around the theme Resilient Life Rhythm. The electronic / e-pamphlets are available in Afrikaans and English and can be downloaded for free at https://clf.co.za/resilient-life-rhythm/

We live in disruptive, even traumatic times. Our rhythm of life is disturbed, as reflected in the increasing prevalence of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, and loneliness. How do we reorient ourselves after periods of disorientation? How can we bounce back resiliently after setbacks? How can we find our normal rhythm of life again?
This series of discussions and readings addresses these pressing questions. By exploring how to stay healthy in traumatic times, it emphasises the importance of maintaining an open heart, an open mind, and fostering new willpower. It delves into strategies for managing anger, offering practical advice for those struggling with this powerful emotion.
The series also tackles the issue of self-worth and self-esteem, providing insights into building a positive self-image. It highlights the significance of establishing a healthy rhythm of life, recognising the challenges posed by our fast-paced, modern world. Loneliness is examined not just as a common problem but as an experience that, with the right perspective, doesn’t always have to be negative. The series also explores the power of thought, showing how our thinking can either build us up or break us down. It addresses anxiety, distinguishing between everyday anxiousness and more debilitating forms of anxiety. Depression is discussed in a way that makes clear its various facets, including languishing and a sense of wasting away, which are often its subtle companions. The series provides guidance on processing loss, a crucial aspect of mental health that many struggle with. It also considers the role of resilient spiritual leadership, offering direction for those looking to lead others through these difficult times. These readings can be deeply beneficial for individuals seeking personal growth and can also serve as stimulating discussion points for groups looking to support each other through these challenging times.
